Ayar Labs Receives Recognition as Top Chiplet Startup & Tech Startup to Bet Your Career On in 2021

News

Recognition by industry experts for Ayar Labs as leading startup in emerging technologies and innovative industry 4.0 solutions.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan., 2021 – Amidst the economic strain of 2020, Ayar Labs’ technology proved resistant to market trends, with solutions for cloud computing and AI now more important than ever.

Business Insider – 54 tech startups to bet your career on in 2021: Ayar Labs

This Silicon Valley startup had hoped to raise $35 million before the crisis began, but then decided to scale down their plans. Turns out that wasn’t necessary.

Year founded: 2015

Total funding: $65.5 million

Valuation: $170 million

What it does: Ayar Labs offers an optical chip for applications that need high bandwidth and low latency.

Why it’s a good bet: Just in November 2020, Ayar Labs raised $35 million from investors led by Downing Ventures and BlueSky Capital. While companies like Intel have long dominated the chip landscape, the rise of cloud computing and artificial intelligence has sparked the need for even more powerful and efficient processors – and Ayar Labs is taking on that challenge head-on. It uses light to transmit massive amounts of data from chip to chip faster than through traditional methods.

Business Insider named Ayar Labs as one of this year’s top tech startups. For more information, visit www.businessinsider.com.

Ayar Labs – Data Transmission Chiplet

Technology advancements in the Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G allow for transmitting more data over networks than ever before. The hardware that supports networks limits the transmission of high volumes of data and at faster speeds. Startups are developing chiplets that are more efficient and cost-effective to keep up with the demands of telecommunication and networking.

The US-based startup Ayar Labs is a developer of optical input/output (I/O) chiplets for high-speed transmission applications. The startup’s product TeraPHY is a monolithic in-package optical I/O that contains photonic and electronic elements. This allows it to support bandwidths at less than 5 pJ/b, up to 2km, while driving terabytes of data.

Ayar Labs was recently named one of the 5 Top Chiplet Startups by StartUs Insights. For more information, visit www.ayarlabs.com.
