Large Language Model (LLM)

What is a large language model (LLM)?A computational model capable of understanding, generating, and manipulating human-like text.

A large language model (LLM) is a deep learning algorithm that can recognize, summarize, translate, predict, and generate text using very large datasets. These models are typically based on transformer architectures and are pre-trained on extensive amounts of textual data from various sources but do not know specifics about which documents were part of their training set. LLMs can perform a variety of natural language processing (NLP) tasks, including text completion, translation, summarization, question answering, and more, making them versatile tools in numerous applications such as chatbots, content creation, and information retrieval. They operate by predicting the probability of a word sequence, enabling the generation of contextually appropriate responses or completions.
